Shwe San Daw Pagoda
11th Century / King Anawrahta
This is the first pagoda by King Anawrahta in the 11th century and this is the pure Indian stupa because foundation is too much bigger than the top. The name of Shwe San Daw means the golden hair of Buddha because the hair of Buddha was enshrined in this pagoda which was sent to King Anawrahta by the King of Bago of the miltary assistance.
Now this pagoda is very famous and hot spot for sunrise and sunset and one of the heavily demage durning the earthquake in 1975.
